Proposed Utility Rate Ordinance Amendments
The City of Riverside is proposing amendments to Chapters 92, 95, and 99 of the City Code of Ordinances related to water and sewer services.
The proposed amendments include:
Water Rate Increases of 3.5%
- Monthly base rate: $12.00 → $12.42
- Usage rate up to 50,000 gallons: $6.00 → $6.21 per 1,000 gallons
- Usage over 50,000 gallons: $8.00 → $8.28 per 1,000 gallons
Sewer Rates Increases of 3.5%
- Monthly base rate: $12.00 → $12.42
- Usage rate: $6.00 → $6.21 per 1,000 gallons
- Usage at or above 50,000 gallons: $8.00 → $8.28 per 1,000 gallons
Additional Proposed Changes
- Establishes a provision allowing renter utility deposits to be set by resolution and included in the City’s fee schedule.
- Places provisions regarding sanitary sewer service outside the City in the appropriate chapter of the City Code.
Residents are encouraged to review the proposed ordinance and participate in the public process by submitting written comments to City Hall or speaking in the public forum at the City Council meeting on September 9th, 2026, at 6:00pm.
